If you're in Denver and you, like Gnarly Gatsby here, are getting antsy for the snow season get your butt down to NORAD Dance Bar tonight (Thursday Oct 11) for the premier of Pirate Movie Production's new snowboarding flick Unique8.
The title refers to the distinctive styles shown off by a select crew of eight riders. The largely scandinavian crew of Gigi Rüf, Marco Feichtner, Arthur Longo, Nicolas Müller, Kalle Ohlson, Teo Konttinen, Chris Sörman and Werni Stock show off their chops on big mountains big jumps and ballsy urban. If you didn't know these fellas before, you certainly will remember them after this footage.
Even the teaser is enough to get us itchin' to strap in and hike out into the backcountry. The focus is on stunning panoramas and breath-taking big mountain and big air shots. There are a few epically framed urban shots, as well as story-telling and character moments which add depth. You are not gonna want to miss this film on a big screen, as The Pirates switched from their standard 16mm format to RED high definition cameras. They kept their analog approach of titling though. The visual style is understated and captivating, and the riding speaks for itself.
In addition to checking out this beautifully shot new film on a big screen, if you attend the Premier you'll be treated to performances by Candy Cobra and EVS, plus other special guests! Plus, as at any good snow movie premier, there will be product giveaways. Go snag that swag! The night kicks off the movie's North American premier tour, so be one of the first to see this in the US, and enjoy a great night, snow-style.
